Stimac, Charles A.


Charles A. Stimac, age 77, of Reform, died Dec. 25, 2008, at Hospice of West Alabama. Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 28, 2008, at Marvin Chapel Methodist Church with Rev. Joyce Snider and Rev. John Williams officiating. Burial will follow in Marvin Chapel Cemetery with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. The body will lie in state 30 minutes prior to services at the church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Bobby Stimac and Johnny Stimac, two sisters, Pauline Ammons and Lela Stimac, and his special uncle, Joe.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Parker Stimac of Reform, Ala.; his daughter, Cindy Stimac Collins and husband Chad of Gordo, Ala.; his son, Michael Stimac and wife Claudine of Northport, Ala.; his sisters, Mary McDaniel of Carrollton, Ala. and Melinda McDaniel (Buddy) of Carrollton, Ala.; and his grandchildren, Micah Trae Stimac, Landon Collins, and Emily Collins.

Mr. Stimac was born May 8, 1931, in Pickens County, Alabama to the late Frank Anthony Stimac and Maude Acker Stimac. He was a member of the Methodist faith, a retired employee of Westinghouse Corp., a veteran of the Korean War serving in the U.S. Marine Corps, and a life long resident of Pickens County.

Pallbearers will be David Parker, Darron Parker, Tony McDaniel, Mike Acker, Ken Acker, and Larry Davidson.

Honorary pallbearers are Dr. Miller, Dr. Gurich, Hospice of West Alabama, Roger Lindsey, Ronnie Parker, Jeffrey Noland, and Jimmy Noland.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Hospice of West Alabama, 3851 Loop Rd., Tuscaloosa, AL 35404.
